Texas is a Wonderful Place to be an Auto Enthusiast
Everything is always bigger and better in Texas, right? When it comes to auto shows, clubs, festivals, and events you are darn right it is. It’s a wonderful place to be for auto enthusiasts, with organized events and get togethers happening all year round.
We’ve put together a list that showcases Texas’s ultimate love for cars. If you didn’t have spring fever before, you definitely will after seeing the 2016 auto show line-up:
1. Lone Star Throwdown – Conroe, TX
The Lone Star Throwdown takes place on February 26-28th at the Lone Star Expo Center and Montgomery County Fairgrounds. It’s a simple story of how the event came to be; two friends reminiscing about car shows of the past and dreaming to throw down a show that exemplified how the whole scene started. They created an event that brought back the old school swing of hanging out with good friends and showing off awesome rides. With 87k followers on Instagram, you know they have some pretty sweet rides that are easy on the eyes!
2. Lonestar Round Up- Austin, TX
April 8-9th marks the 15th Annual Lonestar Round Up which will be held on the rolling grounds of the Travis County Expo Center. It’s all about the funk with a live music festival featuring vintage hot rods and custom cars driven to Texas from all over the country. It’s the unique blend of music, culture, and cars that really makes this event incomparable to others and their Facebook page has plenty of positive reviews to prove it.

3. McAllen International Car Fest- McAllen, TX
The McAllen Convention Center hosted the 5th annual McAllen International Car Fest on January 29-31st. The show featured over 60 different categories of vehicles including classics, antiques, muscle cars, hot rods, race cars, modern, and concept vehicles. Attendees had the opportunity to partake in a road skill test track which rated their driving skills against other auto enthusiasts, as well as a miniature car drag race.
Linda Mancillas posted a wonderful review on Facebook saying, “It’s a great show; you all need to see the beautiful cars that come from all over the different cities.”

It’s safe to say that Texas is an auto-enthusiast’s dream with shows, events, and festivals that keep the state’s car show industry buzzing all year round. Even if you’re not from Texas, a trip to some of these shows would be well worth your time.
